Medicaid Information

Medicaid health insurance (sometimes known as "Apple Health", "Provider 1", or "Medical Coupons", is a government administered healthcare insurance.  This benefit is usually provided through insurance companies who contract with the State of Washington to manage the coverage.  Some of the "Obamacare" plans are also managed through the Medicaid system even though they are not truly Medicaid plans.  Companies which provide these plans include Molina, Coordinated Care, Community Health Plan, some United Healthcare plans, and some others.

I am unable to accept ANY of these plans administered through the Medicaid system.  Be sure to check with your insurance plan if you are not sure.

IF YOU ARE DOUBLE-COVERED---  with regular insurance and and Applehealth/Medicaid plan:  Please note that because I cannot bill the Medicaid plan, you are responsible for any costs left over after your insurance has paid.  This means that you will be responsible for deductible, copayments or coinsurance amounts.

IF YOU HAVE BOTH MEDICARE AND MEDICAID PLANS:     These are often referred to as "dual eligible" patients.  Unfortunately, because of federal regulations on how these plans are administered, I am unable to accept any dual eligible patients.  This applies even if your Medicare plan is managed by an insurance company.
