Diane K. Hastings, M.Div, LMFT

Diane has a Masters in Marriage and Family Therapy, which she earned at Seattle Pacific University in Seattle, WA in 2004, and a Master of Divinity from Luther Seminary in St. Paul, MN in 1983. She is a licensed Marriage & Family Therapist in the State of Washington and an ordained Lutheran minister. She is a member of the American Association of Marriage & Family Therapy and adheres to the AAMFT Code of Ethics. Diane maintains her knowledge and skills by regular attendance at continuing education workshops and classes and in consultation with professionals in her field and related fields and by reading professional literature relevant to her field of practice. Diane's training and experience of 20 years as a parish pastor providing counseling and pastoral care has led her to adopt a “whole person” approach in her work with clients. In addressing the whole person, Diane is responsive to the mental, emotional, relational, physical and spiritual components of her clients' experience. Diane's approach is guided by her understanding that clients are influenced by relationships. Whether working with whole families, couples, or individuals, Diane explores how relationships play a part in our capacity to live healthy lives. Diane believes that each person has the necessary inner resources to draw upon in growing toward healing. She and her clients have conversation about the clients' goals and together agree upon a plan for treatment.
