Connie Guy, MS, LMHC, CMHS

Connie has 5 years of experience working in clinical and community mental health working with adults, children and adolescents.  Prior to that, she worked has a behavioral health counselor in residential care as well as a correctional center with adolescents.  She received her Masters of Science degree in Mental Health Counseling from Capella University.  She is a Child Mental Health Specialist.  

Connie believes in creating a non-judgmental and empathetic atmosphere to develop a trusting, therapeutic relationship.  Her approach is to identify the individuals needs and goals and develop an individual treatment plan to meet those individual goals and needs.  She believes in meeting the person where they are and work to gently challenge unhelpful thoughts and behaviors in order to build a life that has purpose and meaning for them.  She is interested in working with individuals with depression, anxiety, trauma, post traumatic stress disorder and behavior challenges for children and adolescents.  She utilizes talk therapies including cognitive behavior therapy and dialectical therapy as well as existential therapy to help individuals identify personal meaning in their lives.
